Very rare pair of 19th century PIPE SMOKING Black and White Dogs on Green Gilt scrolled Bases.  The inspiration for pipe smoking dogs was an oil painting by Landseer titled 'A Quiet Pipe' which became a Pears Print. Height 10.5" high. both pipes have been restored, small nibble on base as per photograph no other damage. Ref. 2402 - SOLD
